Zinc trading range for the day is 198.2-204.8.

Zinc gained on short covering after prices dropped as traders eyed rising stocks and bet on increased mine supply.

Zinc stocks in London Metal Exchange warehouses stood at 247,250 tonnes at last count, up 87 percent since March 1 this year.

South Korea seeks to buy 1,000 tonnes of zinc for September arrival via a tender, state-run Public Procurement Service said.
