* Zinc prices gained as LME zinc inventories fell below 90,000 mt, which further raised concerns about supplies.

* The United States and China will resume trade talks in Washington, but U.S. President Trump repeated that he may extend a March 1 deadline for a deal.

* The U.S. Commerce Department sent a report to President Trump that could unleash steep tariffs on imported cars and auto parts.
